I would just like to update all our loyal followers about the Happy Days Are Here Again Show, as many of you have been asking what is happening. We have tried to reschedule our shows for this year and have put new dates in, which have, in turn, been rescheduled again. After much deliberation with our wonderful venues, who are themselves struggling on at this time, we have decided the best thing to do is reschedule the entire tour around VE Day next year. This is for a couple of reasons. Firstly there are many VE Day events which have been rescheduled from this year, that will now take place next year. The celebrations next year will be as they should have been this year and there will be street parties and televised events over the weekend of 8th May 2021. We will be touring during the weeks around this date to bring the street party spirit to our venues. We will also be performing in other events as part of the celebrations in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset as part of their VE Day celebrations.
Secondly, we want to bring the best possible experience to our audiences which we cannot do with social distancing. A large proportion of our audiences are also classed as vulnerable at the moment and we do not want them to miss out on the show, and both we and our venues agree that the main priority is to keep you all safe.
We will be posting the rescheduled dates on here in the coming weeks, as well as dates at the new venues we have added to the tour.
Anyone with tickets already will be contacted by the venues, please bear with them, this is an incredibly difficult time for all of them.
With the very sad news of the passing of Dame Vera Lynn, we will also be extending our tribute to her in the show, to pay respect to the wonderful inspiration that she was to an entire nation and to keep her spirit alive. She will be missed, but she will never be forgotten as her music lives on.
